Travels with S/Y Thetis
2010: Aegean

This is a very personal account from late April to October 2010. During this time I sailed my boat, Thetis, in the Aegean. There are three separate trips: Samos to Kythnos, Kythnos to Samos, and a tour in the Dodecanese. These are in addition to sailing Thetis from Leros to Samos and back (via Turkey) as well as a number of excursions near Samos.

• Some cracks were found on Thetis’ ribs
• Thetis is launched

• Our friends Frosso & Elias Vasiliades come to Thetis for a day

• We meet the S/Y Pandora & and the Yildiz family in Lipsi
• Thetis docks next to my friend Turgut’s New Life in his private pier in Alaçati
• Thetis’ master crews during New Life’s race in Siğacik
• In the night a shore line broke during a gale in Moschato, Lipsi
• Thetis is hauled-out for the winter
